PANASONIC TX32LXD70

The Panasonic TX32LXD70

Well, I know the TX32LXD70 is not a new TV, far from it, released as it was back in early 2007. However it remains a popular model with HDTVsite visitors, so what does it have that others have not? Well, it debuted in 2007 to some acclaim, in fact it was almost groundbreaking, but still lacking the 1080p full HD picture resolution that became the most sought after feature of High Definition TV’s last year. Nevertheless, the High definition picture holds up very well, thanks in no small part to the introduction of the 100mhz refresh rate, with beautifully rich and natural colours, and a lovely sharp picture which was outstanding at the time, and is still more than a match for many screens today. The standard definition performance is reasonably good too, but blurring and picture noise is present if you look for it.
2 HDMi Sockets were also a good selling point for a while, before the introduction of Samsung’s 3 HDMi TVs, which made those with only 2 HDMi sockets feel like they were missing out on something. And to be honest they probably are. 3 HDMi Sockets are recommended if you’re a gadget head, and have got yourself Sky HD or Virgin V+, a Blu Ray player and a PS3 (I know I have :)), and even if you haven’t got all these HD ready Devices right now you probably will have in the near future with the introduction of HD Freeview boxes and Budget Blu-Ray players, (count on it happening). However, having said that we will probably see HDMi splitters and dropping in price as well so even with only 2 Sockets there will always be an alternative to scrambling around on you hands and knees when you want to plug in your games console.
To sum up then, a solid perfomer and a decent TV on release, but if you bought it now you might always be looking longingly at other TVs behind its back.
